Inspiration comes in many forms for a band such as The ShamRogues and the 70s can be thanked for making such a versatile guitarist out of Barry. Andrew
of course had no real choice as Barry threatened to ground him indefinitely if he refused to join the band....
Steve on the other hand grew up just hating animals and spent many happy years beating live goats until he saved up enough money for a Bodhran. Rai says she got into music to find a man for herself - Jaysus, look what she ended up with !! Front man Casey was destined to be a musician as soon as he realized that it involved very little walking and no exercise whatsoever. Jim's real inspiration probably dates back to the Trade Centre in Dubai in 1998 when he was witness to the dynamic spoon-playing of his friend Lee Roebuck. Jim recalls hearing the amazing music that Lee produced from his spoons and saying to himself "Jaysus if that gobshite can do it, anyone can"
